Governor of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has positioned Lagos as the preferred gateway for investment into Africa, saying the state offers the best route for investors seeking to tap into the continent’s growing economic opportunities.
Speaking at the opening of the Invest Lagos 3.0 Summit on Monday at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Sanwo-Olu said Lagos remains Africa’s leading business hub, driven by strong infrastructure, a thriving private sector and a business-friendly environment.
The governor highlighted key achievements of his administration, including the Blue and Red Rail Lines, the operational Lekki Deep Sea Port, the ongoing Fourth Mainland Bridge project and plans for the Lekki-Epe International Airport.
He also noted Lagos’ growing status as a technology and financial centre, citing the presence of major fintech firms and the proposed Lagos International Financial Centre.
Sanwo-Olu called on global investors and development finance institutions to partner with Lagos in sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, housing, energy and digital technology.
According to him, the success of the summit will be measured by the investments secured, jobs created and economic opportunities generated for residents.
The two-day summit, themed “Lagos: The Business Gateway to Africa,” is expected to attract investors, business leaders and policymakers from across the world.
